Studio Cypher’s second MPN, Perfect Friends Forever, ended on Tuesday with the successful capture of Madame Z’s threatener. We have a new survey out, so please let us know what you think about the game. One lucky survey taker will earn a Studio Cypher prize pack as well!
Oh, and whoever first solves Wylie’s Will and tells us where the treasure is buried (or at least how to find it) will also get a little something!
Thanks everyone for playing!

Now that most people have filled out the survey, we can talk about our impression of Out in the Cold without influencing answers (but keep filling out those surveys! One lucky respondent will win a free subscription to episode 2). Overall, we’re very pleased with the first episode. It was a real experiment in a lot of ways. Nobody has really tried a subscription since Majestic, most MPNs are much longer, and it’s the first part of a serial story. There’s definitely room for improvement, but the response has been good enough that we know we’re on the right track. That said, I’m going to take you through the good, the bad, and the ugly from the inside.

The first Cypher’s case, Out in the Cold, is underway! Wakeful Agents around the world are recieving their first clue to the location of Charles Lehner. You can read more about it
and where it is leading them in the case summary.
Also, thanks to the deductive talents of tjray and ilikepucks, the “Batch Processor” problem
has been solved! Wakeful Agents can read the batch processor’s output on the batch processor page.
Wakeful Agents also have a new feature: Profiles! Let the world know your alias, your specialties, and anything else you want them to know about your past encounters with the weird. You can edit your Agent profile in the account center.

The first of our Wakeful Agent content is now available. Kevin has supplied a few downloads that should prove useful to the Wakeful Agents, with more to come in the future. Kevin has also encountered a strange program deep in the Cyphers’ computer systems. The program is asking Kevin questions. He requests that all Wakeful Agents take a look and lend a hand with this mystery.
Secondly, our forums are now live! Anyone signed up for the tutorial can post in our general and cyphers forums. There is a special section that is only for Wakeful Agents as well. We will be rolling out some cool forum features in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled.

The Cypher’s first case is right around the corner! To celebrate, we’re offering a special preregistration price of 5.99 to everyone who wants to participate in our premiere multi-player novel. Preregistrants receive all the benefits of Wakeful Agent status at a reduced price!
Preregister here to be among the first to gain access to the Wakeful Agent exclusive content!
In anticipation of bringing more Wakeful Agents into the fold, Kevin has expanded the Cyphers training sessions. This second section of training explains how computers encode messages, as well as ways to discover secrets that may be hidden inside web pages. We suggest you check out the training sessions even if you aren’t new to multi-player novels, as Kevin has placed some important Cypher’s related material in the solutions!
Other updates
We have added an RSS feed to this blog so that you can keep up with developments at Studio Cypher. We’ll send occasional email updates, but this blog will have much more timely information.
Additionally, you can now access an account center at the bottom of every studio page. The account center will allow you to retrieve a lost username or password or change your existing password.

At long last, Studio Cypher has opened its doors to the people. Although lots more content will be added before the first adventure, players can get a taste with the Cyphers’ training program.
In addition, Studio Cypher has a brief write-up on ARGN.
